Eye-Fi Saves Photos from the Electronic Vault

My wife Kelly got me a great gift for XMass this year. Frankly, it was the first gift in awhile that I didn't expect to get under the tree.

For electronics geeks and photobugs this is the must have item for 2008. It simply takes your photos and wirelessly transmits them to your computer and a photo sharing website of your choice. Check it out here.

Confessions of an Economic Hitman

I don't often recommend books to anyone really. But this one caught my attention and deserves a recommendation. No matter what political party or belief system you belong to, there are observations in this book that even the casual follower of world politics and the third world can glean fact from.

Take a look. While John Perkins generalizations overstep a bit at times, the underlying claim of the book rings true in the end. Global capitalism is designed to extract resources from the weak and turn it into wealth in the developed world.

Iowa Caucuses

My wife took a job as David Axelrod's Chief of Staff several months ago. Since then, she has been heavily involved in the Obama for America campaign.

So, today and tomorrow, I will be spending my evenings in a phone bank and the boiler room making calls to supporters to ensure they show up for the caucus. Remarkably, I am looking forward to making the calls and Thursday night is looking fun as I will be in the thick of things in the boiler room.

New Year's Resolutions

I thought I would follow the lead of a number of folks and post my resolutions on the web. Perhaps sharing it so publicly will ensure that I live up to them this year.

1. Read more books
2. Work out and get back in shape
3. Buy less electronic crap
4. Eat Healthier
5. Be more green
