Frightened Frog I Am Sure

So I was driving on Saturday to Central Illinois to attend an event in Eureka. While exceeding the speed limit on I-55, I noticed a bird fly by my windshield with a frog in its mouth.

This moment is captured in the following haiku.

I Am From the Beatles and the Who Too!

I am one of those lucky people to have great in-laws. None of the issues that some find when combining their family with another are present in my life. I am further blessed by the fact that my brothers and sister-in-law are pretty fantastic too.

My third little sister Tess, was just recently recognized in a DC wide poetry contest for a poem she wrote that highlights where she is from. This poem is fantastic and highlights Tess' talent at understanding life through both the lense of a young adult and an old soul. You truly are a gift young Tess. Congrats.

Here is the poem:

Taking the Plunge

My boy Luke is getting married on August 16th in lovely New Hampshire to a fantastic girl named Maeghan! This is a picture of us at my wedding almost one year ago.

Luke, thanks for asking me to be a part of your day. I wish you all the best and look forward to playing a part in it.

The Best We Could Do

Now that the Virginia primary is over, Barack is nowhere to be seen. He is off in other primary states doing the work of the people. This has disappointed some serious Barack supporters who have been seeking a photo opportunity for months.

To their credit, this is the best they could do. Great pic guys. I will ask Kelly to get you a signed photo or something nice for the refrigerator.
