Dear Family and Friends:
On Thursday March 17th, Kelly and I welcomed a newborn son into the world which we have named John Patrick Vincent or JPV 2.0 as we had been calling him while in utero.
We plan to call him Jack. He arrived at 1:26 PM and weighed in at 8lbs, 12oz. He is a big boy and we are thrilled to have him join our family. I am super thrilled to have him arrive on his due date too - St. Patrick's Day! So very exciting for a Notre Dame fan, an Irishman and a Chicagoan. What a day!
Well, I wanted to thank everyone who came to visit, sent us an email or a text, posted a note on facebook or just reached out in your own way. The outpouring of love from all of you on that day was just fantastic and truly appreciated. We received poems and jokes, gifts and cash, food and water. The best gift we received from all of you though was your kindness and thoughtfulness.
What Kelly and I both realized is how much we are loved by so many people. We want you to know that we feel the same way about you. We love you and are deeply appreciative of the relationship we have with all of you. We are truly blessed and will surely share that love with our little boy Jack.
As you have taught us, we plan to teach him a lot about LOVING REAL GOOD PEOPLE.
Again, thanks so much. I could keep writing about all of the insights, feelings and emotions of the past 96 hours but my words wouldn't do them justice. Instead, just know that we are smiling and thrilled to be at home with our son.
Love,
Jay, Kelly, Jack and Maggie the Dog!
