What A Compliment

Well, today was my 36th birthday. A fantastic one it was as well.

When I look back over the past ten years or so, I seem to remember less of the material presents that I received and more of the moments that I have had with with family and friends on my birthday. This year was no different. In fact, one of the gifts or moments I received this year is below and is from one of my favorite people. If someone thinks this of me, then I am real proud of who I am because this might be the most complimentary description of me every said out loud. Take a read:

"I was looking through all of your pictures and just revel in your happiness, love of life and your vast array of friends and family that you include in your life. I'm not sure I have ever known anyone who loves life more and embraces every experience except for my mom. I thank God alot of you and the one you are married to, for being in my life. I know that my life is better with you in it. Have a perfect day for a most loving and giving man."

Even now when I read this I am a little choked up. What is even more important about this is that she thought to share it with me. The real lesson I learned from it is not about who I am but really about how important it is to share with the people you love why you think they are so special. There is no better gift than that.
