Cheese Rave

Plain and simple: I LOVE CHEESE. So when my wife told me there was a cheese tasting (I prefer to call it a cheese rave) happening on the south side this past weekend, I immediately put it on my calendar and ensured that nothing would derail visiting the GREAT AMERICAN CHEESE COLLECTION.

Well I am happy to report that this collection of artisan cheese really made the mark. All made by small cheese makers from around the country who have a love for making unique cheeses, I tasted over a dozen and a half artisan cheeses ranging from grazzers' cheddar to a soft cheese called Barick Obama. (It was really good by the way).

What is so telling about this tasting is the fact that it was initially set up for local chefs to come in and test pairings and sample new varieties. Now it is open to the public on Saturdays from 10AM - 2PM. What an opportunity!

If you love cheese or are just interested in trying artisan cheeses, this little warehouse on the south side is the place to be. For $30 we walked out with 7 different varieties of cheese. I doubt they last until Wednesday.
