McCain Doesn't Understand the Problems of the Uninsured

When considering the difference between Barack Obama's health care plan and John McCain's, there is a key distinction that we must understand. Further, this distinction will help highlight the fact that Sen. McCain is just not in touch with the needs of the uninsured - aka the poor.

So, John McCain will give a tax credit to those that currently have no health care coverage. Of course, this is supposed to stimulate the uninsured to purchase a plan that will cover their family's health care needs. But health insurance is not the only thing these people cannot pay for.

The uninsured are also typically the working poor. They can't pay for gas, they can't pay for healthy food and they can't make their mortgage payment. They are stuck and I would guess the last thing on their mind is being insured. Hell, they want to make the next mortgage payment or put dinner on the table.

So, the question is, will this tax credit spur people to buy health care or will it simply be used to purchase food or fuel or pay their rent. My guess is the later.
